I did this not too long ago. I flew through FRA with 42 bottles of wine (some will say I took the p**s but got all of it through customs). We sent one box with 12btl (you'll get them at many locations in the area), packed 12 further in a suitcase (in the insulation) and the remaining 18 were put into hardcase suitcases wrapped in bubble-wrap.

Of the 30 or so bottles we've had since then none of them have tasted adversly and the remainder even managed to sustain another flight to OSL at a later date for storage.

I do believe they sell Jordan in the UK so I would check out the prices of those here (unless you have got a certain vintage), versus the hassle of transporting it back, likeliness of breakage, etc... My criteria is usually when buying wine abroad that if the bottle can't be had and I like it, I bring it back. Also if the wine is sold with a 100% mark-up or more (often the case for premium SA wine which is often a bargain there) I will also consider bringing it back.

Just remember, if you want to avoid paying an excess that each bottle weighs roughly 1kg each.
