I've learned this over the course of numerous UX flights. I specifically use a soft-sided carryon that I know works on the UX fleet. But it's not worth trying to explain this to a GA. Just green-tag it and send me on my way. A waste of a green tag, but that's better than wasting energy on a frustrating conversation with a GA.
