The terminal drop off benefit has helped me too. Regarding upgrades-- not sure how that works, as my experience has been spotty. I always rent full size. My first three rentals after first obtaining the President's club card through AMEX last year were all upgraded to Cadillac's, after that I've had unremarkable cars since. I almost feel they provide better counter upgrades than when the car is prepositioned. Overall, it's a nice benefit to have.
