No, the sensible thing is to consolidate. In the end, Europe is not too different from the USA in terms of size and European nations will matter less and less. How many carriers do you have in the US? Probably 4 large network carriers (AA, CO/UA, DL/NW, US), and 3 LCCs (WN, FL, B6). Maybe AS on top of this, but the rest is relatively small. Prices in the US are low, many destinations are served. If there is one thing I hope that won't happen here in Europe is the deterioration in quality. Rather keep prices slightly higher...
