Ryanair scraps checkin

[not that anyone here cares... just as a warning for anyone you know who insists on trying them: no check-in after October, if they do what they say they will do]

Ryanair scraps check-in desks [SMH]
Budget airline Ryanair says it will do away with airport check-in desks by October.

Europe's largest discount carrier said on Tuesday passengers would have to check in online before arriving at the airport. They will be able to use baggage drop desks for their luggage if needed.

Ryanair first announced plans to abolish check-in desks last month, saying most of its customers already check in online.

Spokesman Stephen McNamara said the move should help reduce air fares.
(interestingly, FT Search could not come up with recent FR threads... apologies for duplicating any recent thread, not found in the search. )
