If NC/NF is available in advance, there are going to be passengers that would have paid for business/first who will upgrade instead. That's a lot of lost revenue compared to the number of people that pass on paying a few hundred extra for a fare that's eligible for the upgrade lottery.

I find it kind of amazing that we see as much NC/NF inventory as we do.
