Window Seats

Way back when I first started playing this game I did lots of reaearch trying to figure out which seats were the best based on the equipment for my flight. It didn't take long before I realized that I wasn't that picky. Oh, staying away from the lav was a good tip that I appreciated ;-) But for the most part, I've found that I'm just as happy in UA E+ as I am in US 1st. It's not so much the leg room as it is the laptop room. I can actually open it up in those seats without the person in front of me jamming it into my stomach when they recline. If I'm not in those sections and I have a good window, I can forget I even have a laptop with me.

So, after some consideration, I'm much more aware of window placement. You see, I like the window. If it's clear enough, I'm very entertained watching the towns go by. For flights I do regularly, I know a bunch of the intermediate towns and before I know it I'm letting the Captain know it's time to start the descent ;-)

As part of this realization, I discovered that sites like SeatGuru talk about legroom and reclining ability but window placement is not to be found. Not that I think anyone could document window placement on all the planes but I'd love to see the 2 or 3 best rows on an aircraft.

Funny thing is, I've been trying to figure out how to objectively list what I think is best and that in itself is a chore. I'm thinking that when I'm sitting in my seat, if the window is at about a 30 degree angle from me it might work.

As an example I'm spending lots of time in the front of US 190's and there is not a row there that rates an "A" from me. I think row 4 is probably the best window choice.

Just something I've been thinking about.
