You see spin - I see common sense.
If they are losing money on a route that so many carriers fly, it seems daft not to step back until the loads are likely to pick up.
Having seen the amount of guff that comes out of the VS PR office (such as the claim it was expanding and creating jobs by adding a HKG frequency, conveniently not mentioning they dropped a JFK rotation to make way for it, or the claim it was offering deeply discounted business fares because it had a responsibility to kick-start the economy), I wouldn't be surprised they are calling it a suspension to save face.
