Not quite.
Where weight concept applies *G gets extra 20kg. As the economy allowance is 20kg, then 40kg is total allowance for *G (note also maximum weight per piece may apply for health & safety reasons).
Where piece concept applies (ie itineraries that include North America) *G gets extra bag. As the economy allowance is 2 pieces, then 3 pieces is total allowance for *G (note also maximum weight per piece may apply for health & safety reasons).
