For the past 10+ years I have been a BIS 1k and Mrs. IFlyMry has been a BIS 1k for the past 8 years. I am also a MM and my Father was a MM.

In Nov. 2008 I was hospitalized for what usually is a routine commonplace surgery that became my surgeon's and my nightmare: a flesh-eating bacterial infection that has claimed skin and muscle tissue around the entire core of my body. I’ve survived 20 surgeries in these months, and will remain in the hospital recovering; to be followed by rehabilitation and additional reconstruction surgeries before I will return to my home and daily life. We are looking forward to that day and beyond, when we will resume our normal daily life and travels again.

A return to our normal travel schedule will likely occur in the beginning of 2010.

We would like to defer our 1k status for 2009 until 2010 when we can again accrue sufficient mileage independently to continue our 1k status.
