Based on today's version of those 2 flights, the one from EWR get into gate D13 and the flight to SFO leaves from gate C2. That is easily doable within your connection time frame. It should take no more than 5 minutes to walk from one to the other. Like others have said, SLC is a very compact airport and connections are easy to make. The only kink in your connection will be if the flight from EWR is delayed more than your connection time - your flight to SFO is the last of the day.
