HI,

I decided to go with the advice to purchase the 2000 miles, it came to $59 and will post within 72 hrs which is quick. My starpoints will probably transfer by then, but it was worth the peace of mind.
The amex cards I have are starwood, no MR and business platinum which has MR but not the level that allows transfer to miles according to the woman on the phone.
