How about this would you pay extra just to have a minibar in your room even if you dont use it? The markups on miniibar items are probably multiples of the internet charges.

How is it that one can get free wifi in a number of smaller and cheaper chains, but not at Le Meridian? Maybe I was hasty to agree that additional charges should be put to room rate, but in this day and age one should not have to pay 38 euro for 1 day of wifi access. That is twice as much as I pay for a month on my home network. If they are going to charge such high rates, they should also provide a true IT person who can fix bugs when their poorly maintained network is not working properly. IME, most often when trying to deal with buggy tech issues I have been at the mercy of a front desk clerk that down't know what the heck they are doing.
