I haven't bought a ticket from alaska in a month or 2 so I don't know if this is a new policy... I just bought a ticket for my wife and child (no status) and after purchase their is a message "You may make one change to this itinerary with no penalty until 11:59 p.m. PT, Saturday, March 07, 2009".

I know that you can make one change to award tickets but I have never heard of free changes to purchased tickets?! Wonder if you can completely cancel for a refund or if it is just a free change to schedule/ destinations?
