Something does not add up, though. The flyer they gave me this week says there is no Forex charge. I suspect they did not update teh marketing material.
i would be very surprised if you can get your banker to give you the 0% forex. if you do a search on my posts back several years, you can see how gung-ho i was previously on recommending this card. i really loved it and used it everywhere. it was the one credit card that never got shut off when i was travelling internationally (even when i would use it in multiple countries in rapid succession in latin america and africa).

then in december i noticed the 3% forex surcharges on my november statement. i called wells fargo customer service as i thought it was a mistake and asked them to credit back the surchares (over $500 worth). they wouldn't budge (welcome to customer service in the new economy) and claimed to have sent out updated ts and cs in my august statement. other people have reported similar experiences. over this one incident, wells fargo destroyed my goodwill toward them and has lost all my banking business.

even if you can get wf to give you 0% forex with the card (and i doubt you can) i think you'd be happier with the schwab invest first visa. the 2% cash back on the schwab signature visa applies to everything you charge and it truly does not have forex fees. if you want to open a checking account with schwab as well (which i recommend), the atm card they will give you has 0% forex for cash and they reimburse any atm fees you get charged. if you travel internationally, this is hard to beat.
