I really hope you're not expecting any sympathy here. I work in a client facing job, just like you. If I told my boss that I'm not doing my job because I might injure myself, I'd probably hear something to the effect of "If you can't perform your job, maybe you should find a new one." Additionally, if an airline is advertising that I get free drinks on my flight, I expect them to be served, especially when they happily took my money for months before.
If you worked in my enviroment then you would have a leg to stand on, but you don't. So all you are doing is compairing apples to oranges. I never said I wasn't capable of performing my job. What I did say is there is no single reason, why a crew member should put themselves in harmes way to dish out 6 ice cube's and 1oz of soda. If the loads are light it can be done, but if you're flying on a 757-300 and the flying time is 25 mintue's, by time we "level" or if we even do the cart has just been set up. It's now time to put it right back, since we need to prepare for landing. So if a free drink on a 25 minute flight is what you get giddy about when you pay for that ticket, you have bigger fish to fry.
