Actually no it's not lazy f/a's! The company set's when a service should be done and should not be done by blocked TIME. So if the flight is blocked under a certain amount of time, there will bo NO BEVERAGE SERVICE! This is how it should be. To often crew are hurt and never properly taken care of medically because someone need's a drink on a 20 minute flight. So on my plane, my saftey come's before anything. I have been hurt before and it was due to this exact reason. What's lazy and cheap is the fact that a person can't properly hydrate themselves before a short flight. NOW THAT'S LAZY!
What a bunch of BS?! When I flew HKG-TPE-HKG, which is of similar flight lenght if not shorter, not only was beverage served, meal was also served. This was in Y. You may be right in that it's higher management's decision whether beverage is served. However, the duration of the flight is certainly no excuse for not serving beverage!
