Restaurant coupons are a satisfactory substitute when the lounge is closed (during normal hours). I agree with the OP's sentiment, though: old lounges with little food, open minimal hours, and just three or four days a week have no loyalty value to me.

Something grab-and-go would be great for the (ugh, many) times one needs to leave before lounge/kitchen hours. The Hacienda San Jose simply opened the kitchen a half-hour early for me!
