I had a conversation with the cabin crew in the gallery on a flight today. They said there was a rumour that now ID passengers are ahead of DMs in op-up. It also seems that there are increasing passengers booking on crowded flights to have a better op-up chance.

I know that the crew members have the op-up list, but it seems they also know who are on redemption upgrades. They do not know the booking classes though.
