This is reminiscent of my trip in fall 2007 when I got bumped off of a United Express flight due to "too much baggage being on the plane."

And, for a bonus, the gate agent never indicated I was pulled from the flight, so it took a few hours to sort that mess out ("But our computer says you were on the flight to MHT!").
