There certainly used to be an anecdotal tale at my former employer where one of our very senior bankers wanted to reach one of his minions on a BA flight to NY. He apparently called the banker who looked after BA, got them to call BA and somehow managed to patch the call through to the flight concerned. No idea whether true or not, but knowing the person concerned I wouldn't have put it past him!

Certainly wouldn't happen these days - bankers don't get to fly any more for starters
