In early April AS from SEA-LAX and returning on the AMTRAK Coast Starlight. It's been many decades since we've done a train trip. Too bad that AMTRAK is no longer an AS partner.

Going off-topic, can anyone recommend a hotel in the downtown area relatively near in cab terms to Union Station in Los Angeles. I've looked at the AAA TourBook and also TipAdvisor, but the TripAdvisor reviews seem all over the place, one person is really enthusiastic about a place and the next person says it's the worst one they've ever stayed at.
