Not much on the Mexican side, the tourism tax (for a tourist visa) of under $20. And again, from what I was told, the Departure tax is charged to everybody, no matter of nationality or immigration status. More than half the fees are on the US side.

yeah, it really doesnt seem to be much, but $20 is $20 - a couple of drinks or lunches or a dinner.

After changing the booking city from BOS to MEX on ITA, the tourist tax is amost equivalent to the Value Added Tax Mexico charges on each segment purchased in Mexico (even if not flown in mexico).

I am guessing one way or another you have to pay the tax - it just doesnt matter.
