No different than the various other print-outs of customer and status that they leave lying around on any given flight. Or for that matter when Hertz or Avis puts your name on the big board.
Avis frequently has my name on a separate sign, "Avis welcomes mr. gleff"
But they forget to also put my space number on the big board. So I have to stand in line at the preferred counter or booth. Finally get to the front and they're like "whaddaya want???" and I kindly, meekly, point to the sign welcoming me "I'd like to know what space my car is in, please."
Then they do a big "oops" that's not the way it was supposed to work....
Sometimes a sign is nice, but a sign is just a sign.
