I'm on TA a lot and they really do try to police the review section. They have the vote button for whether or not the review is helpful. They also allow the property reviewed to respond to reviews. Most annoying to me are the reviews obviously written by an owner or employee of the property reviewed. Some of them seem to be cut and pasted from the brochures.
