I am from France and my parents still live there. So they have been a great help to us.
It is more expensive for sure and we will only some of our vendors a few days before the wedding. But otherwise, you just need to make phone calls during the morning or early evening.
Being so far away from everything might actually be a blessing. We are not fussy about anything. So instead of wasting time, we have generaly gone with option N°1.
But transporting her dress (actually a sari) and my tux is our biggest problem left...
