At EWR now

Well, I arrived at off-site parking at 8:30 this morning and they said I was the first customer of the day. EWR is deserted and the departures board is almost completely red. The P-Club agent said the NRT flight is going to be the first one out and that not a single plane has taken off all day yet. My 9:00 AM EWR - MCO is still listed as "weather delayed" until noon but at least it's not canceled (yet).

The tarmac is barely visible from all the blowing snow (wind gusts to 30+) and the plows are all working to clear the runways/taxiways. There are VERY few planes at the gates (a consequence of canceling so many inbounds yesterday). I think CO's reaction to this storm was dead-on since if they had landed a bunch of planes here last night, they would have been in the same situation NW was a few years in MSP. They had brought in a ton of planes right before a storm and stranded half their fleet when the snow was worse than expected.....messed up ops for the whole airline for over a week!

Never seen EWR on a Monday morning look like this but good job handling it CO ^

Now let's see how overbooked my MCO - EWR is on Wednesday since they'll still be recovering!
