The Plaza seems to be inconsistent. I've not stayed there in a number of years, and the physical layout's good, but reports have been variable. The CY is the sort of place Leonidas, King of Sparta and his helots could have stayed and found the amenities up to Spartan standards (but not exceeding them). I can't report of the RIs.

The River Center's a bit "up" from the Riverwalk, although just out the back door and across the street, sharing F&B/catering. For some strange reason the lobby resturant in the lower scale Riverwalk has always done (at least for me) a better job than the "big'un" across the street.

Downtown SAT's big on conventions and tourism, and rates tend the be high....
