Last year I tried to do something similar and was told they would not undo one upgrade mechanism to apply another. Now if they flight is wide open during the sticker upgrade period I suppose you could delist the VIP and then allow the sticker upgrade process to run its course.

I would not expect this to go easy and be prepared to things not to work out as you are hoping for (ie upgrade is lost, or VIP is charged anyway.)
