If you don't do 50K points or miles, or 60 segments this year, you will fall to Gold on March 1, 2010. You can do a challenge immediately. If successful, that challenge will reinstate your Plat status until Feb. 28, 1011. If you wait until the second half of the year (look up exact date) to do a Plat challenge, it will last you until Feb. 28, 2012. I mention this since you don't say exactly when in 2011 you will hit 2MM.
