I'm wondering if its possible to WL an evip and then assuming it clears before flight, unapply it and hope for my EXP upg.

TIA
I don't think that this would increase the quantity of X inventory available over what it would be otherwise - in fact, it would decrease it if you don't cancel your upgrade before X inventory is released. Also, I wonder if getting the eVIP upgrade wouldn't cancel your request for the EXP upgrade, meaning that when you cancelled the eVIP and re-requested the EXP upgrade, you would be behind all other EXPs for that. Also, there is no guarantee that X inventory would become available at 100 hours. If you are waiting to see if it becomes available before cancelling the eVIP, and it doesn't become available until 15 hours, for example, then all the EXPs, Plats and Golds who have requested upgrades would suck up that X inventory immediately. It appears to me that you would not improve your position for an EXP upgrade, and have every likelihood of making your position worse.

I would just decide if it is worth the eVIP to you to sit by your companion. If it is, waitlist it and hope it comes through. If not, take your chances on the X upgrade.
