LAN will eventually contact but it takes time. Mine took five+ reminder emails and five weeks to complete.

Based on my experience (and others who were successful), your LAN status match request success will be based on one important factor:

Evidence (in flight reservations) that shows LAN that you are (and will) fly with them post status match. Of course, you need to provide evidence on your current status with another airline (equivalent to what you are requesting for status at LAN) and flight history. I'd think that sending a newly status matched status from Delta or NW or UA with no history of flights won't work.

So, in short, with your status at another airline (competitor) and future reservations with LAN (PNR), you can be certain that LAN will match your status (of course, it does take time, but some people have been lucky that the waiting period was shorter than mine).
