so perhaps as they start getting overbooked they stop letting LUT fares book seat assignments. Then maybe, as upgrades clear, they'll open up a few seats in back if I'm lucky.

What is odd is that the price dropped the day I booked it; if they are running out of seats, I'd think they'd sell out of LUT's first. supply and demand says you don't drop the price as supply runs out.
