You are correct. Skywest is flying this at-risk. United has nothing to do with the decision to pick up this route. Same thing that Skywest has done out of PDX to Klamath and North Bend.
At least now it gives me one other location to check prices out of... SEA, YVR, and now MWH (PDX is a bit far). I doubt MWH-XXX flights will be cheaper than SEA-XXX flights when XXX is domestic, but time will tell! I bet the parking fees at MWH are cheaper than SEA.
