Totally lost! re rail travel Prague-Krakow-Budapest-Vienna
My first and last experience with rail travel in Europe was when I was in charge of getting tickets from Paris to Geneva. Because of slight language difficulties the tickets indicated Genova, which I thought might be an alternate, non-English spelling for Geneva. Well, my family still won't let me forget that one!
So am now planning a trip for October, 2009 flying into Prague, then traveling to Krakow, Poland, from there to Budapest, and then to Vienna. If there is an easier progression from city to city I can still make adjustments....but we are flying into Prague and out of Vienna. I really have absolutely NO idea about what stations we'd need to go in and out of - where they are in relation to the town centers and our hotels (presently booked are Prague Marriott, nothing for Krakow (suggestions welcomed), Budapest Marriott, and either the Vienna Marriott or Renaissance Imperial Riding School). Can someone point me in the right direction for finding this type of information? I've searched and found a thread on Vienna-Budapest but still couldn't figure out how to book as there was a long list of stations - and I had no idea about any of them. If there's a thread here somewhere, please point me to it. Or, if anyone has any information they'd be willing to share, I would be most appreciative. Thanks!
