Currently, the experience has been a) you have to sit in your seat with your coat in your lap before you are asked, or b) you have to ask a FA to hang it up for you or c) you have to hang it up yourself. By far and away the majority of the time there is not an FA near the coat closets to ask you for your coat. But there used to be...
