Going to Big Sur for a long weekend and have narrowed it down to either the Post Ranch Inn or Ventana

The general consensus seems to be that the PRI is better between the two, but due to budgetary constraints, would you rather spend 2 nights at the PRI in either the butterfly room or treehouse room (with mostly views of the forest) or a nice suite at the Ventana?

I'd love to reserve a coastal view room at the PRI and be done with it, but $1000+/night is a little too much.
