That OP says that UA will soon no longer accept cash for purchases on domestic flights. That is my issue. I don't mind the CC being an option but I think cash should still be an option. Too bad it isn't a debt situation where UA would have to take cash.

I don't so much have a problem with CCs - though I think it is silly to tie up a line and use a CC for a small purchase. Though I suspect this is more due to the fact that people don't actually have the money and would rather finance everything.

On those midrange domestic segments, I wasn't really planning ahead...thinking about it...so I'd get onboard and simply not eat. The net result of this is that a lot more people will buy the snack boxes and drinks. That's all United cares about.
