OK, so I have a weird question. For many years, Pan Am and later United used the flight number 815 for the LAX-SYD route. On the TV show "Lost," the characters were on Oceanic flight 815 from SYD to LAX when they crashed.

This is something that has always nagged at me since Lost first aired over 4 years ago. Did one of the writers remember that 815 was long used on the LAX-SYD route and choose that flight number for the ill-fated Oceanic flight?? Or is it just total coincidence?!?

Have any other UA old-timers here noticed this?
