My guess is that you'll have some trouble getting a GPS fix while on a plane. I know that I have troubles with my regular GPS device in getting a fix and keeping it unless I have the radio antenna turned facing out the window, which can make it hard to see the screen and use the device.

And, of course, you need to deal with the carriers' rules on GPS use in-flight.
