I am confused by the OP's first post, as it puts both A Club and Advantage Plus together.
From what I understand, A Club is free, Advantage Plus has annual due.
I guess the safer approach is to not worry about the A Club and just pay the higher rate (in Sydney it is 79 vs 71).
It seems most Accor properties, with exception of Sofitel and some Novotel, generally have mediocre reviews on tripadvisor. But saving money is important on a 6 week trip, so I will take the plunge.
Accor's AClub program is new, free to join and is operated globally while Advantage Plus is a membership program for the Asia Pacific region and incurs an annual fee.

I think confusion comes from the fact that you can be a part of both programes at one time. But in this sale it seems only Advantage Plus members get a further discount of 10% . A club members earn reward points when they stay, there are no extra discounts.
You have to prove you are Avdantage Plus member to get the rate so def safer to go with the regular rate at
