I think that what was not mentioned is that the MIT student (Not really the sharpest tool in the shed) was handled professionally and nothing ill can really be said about he was treated. It seemed like he must have saught out the camera crew, told them about his experiment and then they filmed the entire thing. He was told immediately that (at the time) there was no requirement for ID, he simply needed to be screened and searched to be allowed to pass into the secure area. He was screened and the MOMENT that his ID was determined as they found his wallet, the screening was halted and he was sent on his way. Seemed fairly professional to me. It would have been very easy for him to have been required to complete the search which was already in progress.
The TSA shouldn't have been looking in his wallet in the first place.
