antirealist - As Kagehitokiri mentioned - we asked for one - and got one (in October). Also got one at the FS Chicago in July.

There were a couple of glitches. Apparently so few people ask for coffee makers that they installed ours in the mini-bar area - right under a glass shelf. This was a full size 12 cup coffee maker - and the first time we used it - the glass shelf broke from the heat. So remove the bottom glass shelf before you use the coffee maker. Also - the hotel was a little inconsistent about providing coffee. It would give us 3 days worth of ground coffee (pretty good coffee) in a bowl covered with plastic - and coffee filters - and then forget to refresh the supplies when they ran out (I brought my own non-dairy creamer and sugar - and my husband drinks his coffee black - so I didn't have to worry about those things). We were there for 8 days - so I made a mental note to check the coffee supplies each day - and asked room service to send supplies up as necessary.

Based on my experience - my request was unusual (guess Russian oil billionaires and Arab sheikhs aren't used to making their own coffee ) - but the hotel was very willing to oblige. Note that the only place I have ever been charged for a coffee maker when one wasn't standard in the room was at the FS Miami.

FWIW - I've found that most hotels don't list everything they'll send up if you ask - like humidifiers in very dry winter climates and dehumidifiers in very humid climates. Since I live in Florida - I have never felt a need for the latter but have frequently needed the former. Robyn
