Seems to be a bit of a crack down at EDI on checked bags too - I don't think the outsourced check-in staff have any leeway anymore if you have too many bags...

We checked in recently with 2 bags + skis (which is allowed as sporting equipment is over and above the normal allowance) and in order to check-in the skis the agent had to manually fill in a form and take it to a supervisor for signing.

The person at an adjacent desk was a few kilos over her 23kg allowance so was having to repack and pay an extra piece excess...
