My husband and I both opened account in December so we could get the miles and replace our existing mileage cards. I have had no problems with his card or account. Mine on the other hand has been a nightmare. We came back from a trip to Hawaii to find that my card no longer worked. Turns out they canceled my account because they said that I didn't return some paperwork to verify that my mother, whom I had placed as an authorized user, was not an illegal immigrant (huh?). I never received anything from them beyond the welcome packet. I called their fraud dept as I was instructed to by the very rude customer service lady who sounded like I was bothering her. Two separate calls to the dept and nobody ever answered the phone and never returned my messages.

They just canceled the card after charging me the annual fee. I should mention that my husband put his mom on his card as well and Chase never questioned him about her. The difference being her surname is Irish and my mothers happens to be of Spanish origin. What's funny is that I am also on that card-I mean, they were both joint accounts but only mine was targeted and closed without the courtesy of a call back or email or letter--nothing.

How frustrating is that? I'm glad that I hadn't closed down my Alaska Airlines BoA card or we'd be left with only 1 card and no backup. Not that I can consider any card from Chase reliable after this incident.
