The trial version of what? Comodo firewall is a free product. They have other paid products, but you don't really need them.
I'm primarily concerned with incoming connections, and so far, it seems that Vista does a surprisingly good job; I haven't seen ZoneAlarm do anything that Vista can't do. Anyway, it's still too early to say, but I'll keep evaluating the software. Thanks!
Yes, the vista firewall is fine for inbound connections. If that's all you want, then there's no reason for a third party firewall.
If you want manageable 2-way protection, the free comodo firewall is a good option.
