OK I have officially given up on the bike idea. Delta has just made it too expensive. I do appreciate the help!

New question I cant seem to find an answer too. Instead of a bike if i want to bring a bike rack with me. I can fit the bike rack in a medium sized box. It weighs less than 70 pounds. Will delta let me use a regular box taped well as a checked luggage piece? It is certainly not a suitcase. Is a box ok it will be less than 62 inches total size.
