Ok, I've had it! I have flown UA and SW a few times lately, and every time I go back to US, I am completely appalled by the condition of the planes.

On Friday, I was on a 737 coming back from PIT in F and there was black goo in every crevice of the arm rest. There was sticky soda splashed on the wall under the window - it was not a recent occurence, it had clearly been there awhile. I opened my tray and there was goo all over it too. There was the usual ink all over the back of the seat in front of me (how does that happen, anyway??). The lav was a germ-ridden disgrace. I won't go into details. And God help me, I forgot the cardinal rule of travel, and I actually looked into the seatback pocket. I almost fainted at what was in there. If I had actually paid for F, I would have been livid. I understand this is an old plane, but the problem seems to be on every plane except the Shuttles.

Does US no longer pay to get its planes cleaned? Why can other airlines manage and US cannot? I am asking for too much? I can live with bringing my own beverage, food, magazines and IFE, but geez, do I have to clean the planes too?
