If I could get one more opinion though, how is traffic going to the airport on a Sunday? Also regarding the car service, how does pickup usually work? I'm guessing you call in to follow up and make sure that you select a place for pickup?
I agree with some of the comments above but if you're in a group then just either get a taxi or a car to the airport. Getting down to the Tube from St. Pancras is not easy with a family and luggage and on Sundays as the other poster said there's a lot of engineering work. The HEX will cost you about 15GBP each even if you get to Paddington, a taxi to the airport direct will be 50GBP in total. Private hire will be a little cheaper. Traffic on a Sunday going out of town is not bad at all and should take no more than about 30mins to get there. Can't help you with any private hire numbers or details but the black cabs in London are very good (and easy, no booking, waiting etc.) and worth the money if you can afford them. But yes, the service for private hire is usually like you say above but they'll meet you at the station. Good luck!
