Maybe it is just principle, but I don't feel they should be putting out expired food, as that could get people sick and hurt...
IF it's been properly stored, such food lasts well over a month beyond the expiry date. I've never gotten sick from eating a yogurt (unopened) that was a month past its date. This is now a big issue with food banks, though. Even if the food is still edible on its "best by" date, it is harder and harder to convince people.
